This three-hour class is an introduction into 3 Gun competitive shooting for those who have never participated in a 3 Gun competition or want to improve their performance. Students learn safety rules, match rules, scoring, and strategies used in shooting various stages in a competition.

After a safety briefing, equipment review, shooting fundamentals review, and discussing strategies in preparing for and shooting stages, students are walked through a practice stage and then one student at a time will shoot the practice stage with the instructor progressing through the stage with them. Instructor will critique each shooter upon completing the practice stage and offer tips on improving skill. Student will be shooting against time and penalties for misses to evaluate progress each time a stage is shot by the student. Depending on class size each shooter should get to shoot the practice stage three times.

Shooters need a semi-automatic pistol of 9mm caliber through .45 ACP, a belt mounted outside the waistband holster, a two-magazine belt mounted magazine holster, a semi-automatic rifle between .22LR caliber and .223/.556 caliber with a minimum magazine capacity of ten rounds and at least one spare rifle magazine, a 20 gauge or 12 gauge pump or semi-auto shotgun. Shotgun capacity needs to be a minimum of four in the magazine. You will need 75 rounds of pistol ammunition, 75 rounds of rifle ammunition and 50 rounds of shotgun shells that are #7.5 or #8 lead shot. All ammunition must be factory loaded. Students also must have electronic ear protection and eye protection. This is not a NRA certified class.
